About RepayPlan
RepayPlan is an independent reference site about US federal student loan repayment. We track the 2026 overhaul of federal student loan repayment - the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), the new Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP), the tiered Standard plan, IBR, the plans being phased out (SAVE, PAYE, ICR), PSLF, and loan forgiveness - and turn the rules into plain-English guides and free calculators.
What we do
We read the primary sources - Federal Student Aid (studentaid.gov), the U.S. Department of Education, the Federal Register, HHS poverty guidelines, and the text of Public Law 119-21 - and present the figures with the math shown and a dated source line on every page. Our calculators reproduce the published formulas and run entirely in your browser.
Who's behind it
RepayPlan is maintained by an independent editorial team that follows federal student aid policy. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, or any loan servicer. We do not originate, service, or refinance loans, and we are not paid to recommend any plan or product.
Important: this is information, not advice
Everything here is general information, not financial or legal advice. Federal student loan rules are changing in 2025-2026 and final regulations are still being implemented. Always verify your situation with your loan servicer and studentaid.gov before making decisions. See our methodology and disclaimer.
